| DIRECTOR'S NOTES: The running message throughout some of my "director notes" in all of my early movies is that fact that I am being an apologist for some of the movie's flaws. I write things like "forgive the technical flaws; the bad sound, the less than stellar video quality, or the bad writing." I, like everyone else, was learning and have a right to fail as I am trying to get better. For this project, however, I really have no excuse. I should have garnered enough experience to know this could not have worked. It was a disaster from the start. First of all, this marked the first time I had to out right fire somebody as I made an error in judgment in hiring a particularly infantile troublemaker (I'll go into details on my essay "Hiring Actors".) Additionally, the script needed a lot of work. The end result resembles an afterschool horror special fit for a fifth grader. Lesson learned....I hope... On the positive side, we got to work with Joletta Hardman (Dana) who is one of the most upbeat and nicest actors I've ever met. If you wish to watch it anyway keep those disclaimers in mind. |
| PLOT: Dana is the new girl in town and soon finds herself being picked on by a gang of particularly abusive cheerleaders. As she is being chased through a cemetery, Dana accidentally conjures up an ancient spirit that fancies herself as her personal guardian angel...Or guardian demon. |
