| DIRECTOR'S NOTES: Despite what some of the idiot on-line critics say I thought the acting in this one was pretty good (myself excluded). Molly Fix is terrific as a scheming nurse while Jessica McCarthy is a natural on camera. My good friend Ray Bachman shows his acting chops as well. Admittedly, I tried to do too much here, acting, directing, and improvising a partially written script along the way. Lesson learned :) In The Red is distributed through Echelon/Singa Home Entertainment. My contract is up with them in 2010 so I want to obtain the rights back for this one and re-edit, re-shoot some scenes. |
| PLOT: Jenny (Jessica McCarthy) is trying to turn over a new leaf in her marriage with her husband Rod (Richard Poche) but finds her past catching up to her. Her half-brother Frank (Ray Bachman) has just gotten out of prison and is blackmailing her for money. What kind of secret does he have on her? The jealous Rod, however, is seriously injured in a botched robbery attempt. He is nursed to health by a manipulative nurse (Molly Fix) who convinces him of the need for revenge on his wife and her lover. |
