Jose Antonio Rodríguez Avelar (born August 28, 1958 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico) was a Mexican
boxer in the Flyweight division. He is a former NABF and the WBC Flyweight Champion.[1]
Professional career
In August of 1980, Avelar won his first NABF Championship by Knocking out Alberto Morales.[2]
WBC Flyweight Championship
In his second attempt Antonio won the WBC Flyweight Championship by upsetting Shoji Oguma by
T.K.O. in the seventh round[3] On July 25, 1987 Avelar lost his last bout to an undefeated Miguel Lora
WBC Bantamweight Championship.[4]
