DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
"Amped" was shot in May of 2004 and continued on intermittently until October of that year.
It was a seminal development in my filmmaking endeavors for two reasons.
One, it became apparent that things were coming together or at least there were hints of *potential*.
There were still rough and raw moments in technical details. But when it came to making shots,
directing actors, and recognizing a good story, I finally turned the corner.
Secondly, I had a great crew. This marks the first of what became many future collaborations with
Stuart Brazell and Elizabeth Di Prinzio. . Trish Christensen came back as well and gives her best
performance to date as the brooding drummer, Veronica Low.
This marked the last time I used a standard mini-DV consumer camcorder.
A great deal of thanks has to go to my friend Jeff Crowder and his partner Jeffrey Stully who
graciously allowed us to film at his home in the Oakland Hills. We had a large home, stunning views and
a swimming pool to boot. Because of this we were able to incorporate a bikini scene in the story.
And that was damn fun to shoot.
WHO KILLED LYNN STRAW?
Homicide detective Robert Holden (Richard Poche) is rapidly becoming the stereotypical world
weary detective by working in the crap city they call Oakland.
Holden is called to investigate the death of Lynn Straw (Stuart Brazell). Lynn was the new
singer of the Bay Area all girl rock band, "The Danger Dolls."
Holden quickly wants to put closure on the case and avoid scrutiny by the media. What he first
believes to be an open and shut case of a cocaine overdose soon turns into something more
sinister entirely as the detective discovers that each of the band mates have something to hide.

'TILL MY DYING DAY
The irony of the band's most popular song is apparent as Magnolia "Maggie" Leonard
(Elizabeth Di Prinzio) discovers Lynn dead on the couch. Maggie is a fiery tempered lead
guitarist prone to outbursts which are held in check only by her music. Then there is the
sensual Cassandra Reed. A sultry bass player, Cassandra has the uncanny ability to enter a
room full of people and soon become the only woman in the room the men are paying
attention to. Then there is the superb rubber wristed drummer of the band, Veronica Low
(Trish Christensen). Veronica goes into hiding immediately after the death of Lynn. Her
boyfriend/songwriter, Jimmy (Ray Bachman), runs interference for her.
Holden must discover who is telling the truth in a group of accomlished liars.
